Security Update, May 27, 1999 (Internet Explorer 5)
This update resolves the "Malformed Favorites Icon" vulnerability in Internet Explorer 5 and is discussed in Microsoft Security Bulletion MS99-018. Download now to help eliminate two security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer. The first issue could allow arbitrary code to be run on your computer. The second issue could allow the local hard drive to be read.

- This file should only be applied to computers running Internet Explorer 5.
- A computer is vulnerable if it is running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or Internet Explorer 4.x on Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows NT 4.0 DEC Alpha.
- Internet Explorer 3.x, and all versions of Internet Explorer for Windows 3.1, Windows NT 3.51, UNIX (Solaris), and Macintosh are not affected by this issue.
