FIXES:
- Corrects a compatibility issue with HP workstation systems where the monitor's
charging/ display function was lost when USB-C Video was attached.
PREREQUISITES:
- To avoid installation issues, close any open, running applications.
- Keep the monitor power cable connected during the update process.
- Keep the monitor powered ON with active video during the update process.
- Do not force the computer system into sleep or shutdown states during the
firmware update process.
- Connect only one monitor at a time and connect only the target monitor that
you intend to update.
- The HP Z38c monitor must be connected to a computer with a USB cable (USB-C to
USB-C cable) for the firmware update to function properly.
HOW TO USE:
To update the firmware on the HP Z38c 37.5-inch Curved Display, please complete
the following steps:
1. Attach power and USB cables as detailed in the Prerequisites section.
2. Double-click the downloaded " SP144088.exe" file and follow the on-screen
instructions. When prompted, click the "Next" button if you agree to the license
agreement.
3. Type a new location for which the firmware updater files should be extracted,
or just click the "Next" button to use the default location. The copying process
will begin. After copying is complete, the HP Z38c firmware update utility
executes automatically.
4. Click the "Start Update" button to start the firmware update process.
5. During the update process the monitor screen may automatically turn off for
approximately 10 seconds, and then will turn back on.
6. Once the firmware update completes, a summary message will appear in the
center of the screen asking you to detach/re-attach the HP Z38c USB and power
cables to finish the update process.
7. Once complete, click the "OK" button to close the message and the firmware
update utility.
